Blueprint Revealed: How Can I Help?

Each week, Dismantle Poverty’s Megan Matthews answers a question about the Poverty Reduction Work Group’s mission to reduce poverty and inequality in Washington State.

Here’s this week’s entry.

“How can I help?”

Thanks for joining the effort! Realizing the future we desire and deserve will take us all working together. What you can do will depend on your role and responsibilities in your organization, your organization’s mission and who is served, the people you know and interact with, and your own unique skills and abilities.

Some next steps I suggest are:

  • Read the plan, a couple times, if you haven’t already
  • Think about how you can contribute as an individual
  • Talk with co-workers and your supervisor about how your team and organization can contribute
  • Take an action, doesn’t have to be huge, that is in line with the Blueprint.

A future that supports the health and well-being of everyone will require action. Acting together, we can achieve success. We look forward to partnering with you.
